Morisset is situated on the south western end of Lake Macquarie and bounded by the scenic and beautiful Watagan Mountains in the west.   The area is served by the main northern railway line and the F2 freeway about 100km from Sydney and 55kms from Newcastle.

The town of Morisset was named after Captain James Morisset (1780 - 1852) who was appointed to the Newcastle District in 1818 as Commandant of the 48th Regiment.

Ninety minutes north of Sydney is where you will discover the natural beauty of Lake Macquarie
There are long sun drenched golden surfing beaches, a vast blue saltwater lake, four times the size of Sydney Harbour and beautiful green majestic mountain backdrop.

Lake Macquarie is the first port of call when visiting the Hunter, the largest coastal Lake in Australia.
Lake Macquarie can cater to all your needs whether your looking for absolute indulgence or to be self sufficient. The area boasts a wide range of
accommodation and award winning eateries.
